Father’s Day 2022

By June 22, 2022 No Comments

This past weekend BOCAteers celebrated the special guys in their lives. For some this was their dad, their husband, their partner, extended family or even a good friend. No matter the title, these people are important and have had an impact on our lives in some way. Family means everything to BOCA and so we want to take the time today to say Happy Father’s Day to all of the important people in our lives!

Anthony Lam, Account Director
I have been bonding a lot with my dad as we started fishing together through the pandemic. It has given us a fun activity to go out in the water with our kayaks and enjoy nature. It gives us a great opportunity to joke with each other about our “knowledge” of how best to fish.

My dad is one of the most hardworking people I know. Both my parents worked hard so we could have everything we needed and wanted. My dad is a do-it-yourself kind of guy and although it takes forever for him to finish a project they always get done eventually. I cherish the times my brother and I have spent being his construction helpers holding a flashlight over his shoulder or grabbing a screwdriver. Does this mean I know how to build a closet from scratch? No, but that’s okay cause my dad will do it for me

Wendy Brittain, HR Director
I was lucky to have my dad for the first 37 years of my life. He left us way too soon, but I’ll always treasure the many ways he affected my life and who I am. Some of my favorite memories of my dad include how we could talk for hours about politics (even though we were on opposite ends of the political spectrum), sharing new music with each other, taking the long way home when running errands together so he could show me places that were important to him when he was growing up, and especially our many family camping trips in the Sierra Nevada mountains where he instilled a deep love of nature in my sister and me. My dad was also a creative soul and I appreciate that he passed that on to me. I miss my dad every day, but Father’s Day is particularly rough. I’ll be thinking of him and wishing he was here.

Lauren Brown, Content Specialist
My dad is an amazing dad and just a wonderful all-around human being. He is selfless and loving and puts everyone else before himself. I have learned so much about parenting from him and he has now also become a role model for my husband. My kids are lucky to have him as their Boppa, he is fun and goofy and they eat it up! Happy Father’s Day Dad!!
