It provides end-to-end cloud-managed live and on-demand video infrastructure for TV and OTT. Launched in 2008, Amagi has established itself as a trailblazer in the world of cloud technology. Its products enable content owners and TV networks to manage, launch, monetize and distribute live, linear, and on-demand channels across cable, OTT, and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platforms worldwide.
Amagi was co-founded by CEO Baskar Subramanian, chief revenue officer KA Srinivasan (Srini), and chief customer success officer Srividhya Srinivasan. The company is global, with multiple offices in the U.S., Europe and across Asia and the Pacific regions. Earlier this year, Amagi earned unicorn status after receiving funding that resulted in it becoming one of the highest-valued media tech companies worldwide.
This past week, Amagi hosted its inaugural FAST Conference in Los Angeles. This event united leading content and platform brands, industry veterans and seasoned experts to share their experiences and best practices. The streaming industry is hot, and as more and more people cut the cord and make the jump to streaming TV and video, advertisers are following closely behind. As a leader in the FAST industry, Amagi held the event to bring the streaming community together to network and learn from each other during such an exciting time. The schedule was jam-packed with some of the most respected voices in the industry, including Katherine Pond, group vice president at VIZIO, Philippe Guelton, chief revenue officer at Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (Crackle Plus, Redbox), Stuart McLean, CEO of FAST Studios, and more.
Earlier this month, Amagi had one of the hottest showcases at the IBC event in Amsterdam. Amagi made numerous product announcements including the launch of the latest version of its live orchestration solution, Amagi LIVE. Amagi also shared news about the upgraded version of its broadcast-grade channel playout platform, Amagi CLOUDPORT, and the latest version of its flagship ad insertion product, Amagi THUNDERSTORM.
Most recently, Amagi was featured in Fierce Video for an amazing showcase at IBC and Srini’s take on the FAST industry. Additionally, Amagi was highlighted in a TV News Check article about streaming and FAST channels. Srini was also featured in TV Rev as a part of its “Innovator Spotlight” series, discussing how Amagi helps FASTs experiment, iterate and ultimately monetize.
